INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp. butter (vegan if desired)
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup Longève Plain Breadless Crumbs
  • ¼ cup freeze-dried strawberries*, crushed

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar and Breadless Crumbs and cook over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in crushed strawberries. (We like to crush our strawberries in a Ziplock bag using a rolling pin.) Allow to cool, and serve over ice cream (it's delicious on coffee cake, too!).

*FREEZE DRIED STRAWBERRIES: These can usually be found in the dried fruit section of the grocery store. Make sure you pick "freeze-dried" and not simply "dried" strawberries, as the freeze-drying process gives them the light and crumbly texture essential to this recipe.
